Leadership

Organizational Transformation

Are you a smaller company that need help preparing for growth? Know where you want to go, but no time to put the details into a plan? Or are you a bigger company that need a senior person to roll out that CRM and put Sales Ops in order? No matter what your topic is, organization transformation requires a detailed plan that inspire confidence and motivation among all levels of the organization.

Interim Leadership

Want to promote internally, but the candidate does not yet have the experience to take on the role? Accelerate by using interim leadership to get things moving and give the candidate a smoother start and higher chance of success.

Board/Investor management

Everyone who has ever dealt with a board or an investor knows how important it is to get things right at those monthly or quarterly meetings. And how much time it takes to prepare for it. Need I say more.

Steering Committees

No matter the size of the organization a quick and reliable path to decisions that are in line with the company strategy is mandatory. Establishing steering committees means every participating leader must understand their role and duty, and be able to clearly communicate the new habits to their teams. Steering committees must always be transparent, agile and business oriented.

Negotiation

Negotiation takes place in almost every role; around support cases, compensation claims, reseller contracts, roadmap priorities etc. Maybe, it would be worth the while to sharpen the negotiation skills of some key team members?

Leadership Training

Nothing can frustrate productivity more than a promoted subject matter expert that don’t know how to lead, or a leader that don’t know what he is leading. In #hoteltech all leaders should be subject matter experts, and to be successful many will need leadership training or coaching.

Strategy

Business Plan development

The key to a good business plan is understanding what level of complexity is needed for the particular company. A great big business plan does not bring much value in a company with 10 employees for example. But there are some key components that should never be omitted, because after all, it’s the metrics defined here that we measure our success against.

Go-To-Market planning

Someone had a cool idea. It passed market validation. Soon there will be a product that someone actually wants or needs. Great start! Now what? Which assets are needed? How should it be positioned? Which campaigns should be prepared? And goodness me, does anyone know exactly what it does? I mean, really knows. Taking something to market incorrectly, or maybe not doing a market launch at all, can have unfortunate consequences. Are you doing it right?

Branding or Re-branding

Everyone knows that people buy from people, not from companies. Still, so few brands manage to make their brand human. All around are the same buzz words and (empty?) promises. Frankly, it’s boring. And one thing you really don’t want to be (unless perhaps if you are an undertaker) is boring.

Partners & Resellers structures

Smart scaling has always gone through partners or reseller programs. But how to put it together? Should it be a referral program? A reseller program? Something in between? What are the legal implications (you know, that fun stuff). Putting together a clear and simple partner strategy is essential for any company. And a great exercise in working through which value that one actually brings to the industry.

Customer Advisory organization

Software companies are traditionally terrified of customer advisory boards. They make light that it’s not the case, but let’s be truthful – everyone is terribly worried that their dirty laundry will be exposed to any customer, or that they might in any way lose autonomy of the roadmap. However, when done right, customer advisory boards or advisory events are some of the greatest things you can do for your company. And for your customers.

Public Speaking

Key Note speaker

Make it different, make it multi dimensional, make it real. Lose the (buzz) words on the slides, unfold Pecha-Kucha style capabilities and ensure it’s fun and engaging. Know your audience and speak directly to their issues or challenges. Make sure that whatever you say, it makes a difference to someone.

Panelist

For a panel to be exciting, it needs subject matter experts that are charismatic and unafraid to speak their minds. A too homogenic group of panelists rarely delivers anything thought provoking or inspirational to the listener. In my world, nobody remember the very polite panels – we remember the slightly dramatic ones.

Moderator

The best moderator does not offer opinions or speak at length. No, instead the moderator uses her skills to asks the right questions and galvanizes the panel members to speak their minds without hesitation.
